An innovative building designed by a Matlock architects firm was shortlisted for a prestigious award.
Staff at Evans and Vettori Architects, based at Knowleston Place, are celebrating after their project was nominated for a Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) national accolade.
The award-winning firm, which specialises in creating contemporary designs in historic settings, created an environmentally friendly sea house in Roseland Peninsula, in Cornwall.
The house was built using sustainable building methods including low energy lighting, underfloor heating and solar panels.
Much bigger projects picked up the awards on the night but director Robert Evans said: “Getting on the shortlist is no mean feat for a small practice in Derbyshire, so we are still celebrating.”
