B&Bs are top notch

Two bed and breakfasts have received awards for being finalists in a national competition.

Diane Carrieri from Hodgkinson’s Hotel, in Matlock Bath, and Teanie Dornan from Yew Tree Cottage, in Tansley, made it to the finals in the AA’s Friendliest Bed and Breakfast of the Year 2012 awards.

Finalists were chosen from over 3,000 bed and breakfasts.

Diane Carrieri has been running Hodgkinson’s Hotel since 2000 following seven years working in hotels in Italy. At Yew Tree Cottage, Teanie has been welcoming guests to her 18th Century cottage since 2005.

Simon Numphud, AA hotel services manager, said: “We love to have the opportunity to recognise bed and breakfast owners in the UK.”
