Hall gets eco energy

A tourist destination is introducing renewable technologies into its country estate.

Hopton Hall has commissioned renewable energy specialist Purple Energy to install a new system to heat the hall itself, the estate manager’s house and the estates four luxurious cottages and swimming pool.

The move into renewable energy comes after Bill and Julie Thomas recently bought the newly refurbished stately home alongside its four holiday cottages and gardens.

Managing director of Purple Energy, Dr Matthew Goodwin, said: “With energy prices on the rise and a desire to reduce their carbon footprint, Hopton Hall have made an excellent decision in choosing a wood pellet biomass system.”
