A member of the aristocracy has opened the new Bakewell Show office.
The Duke of Devonshire officially opened the new Bakewell Show office, which replaced the old building, or ‘chicken shed’ as it was called.
The new office is now informally named ‘Janet’s Palace’ after the show’s manager Janet Bailey.
The new £369,000 timber–framed office which reflects Bakewell show’s environmentally–friendly reputation.
Representatives of the contractors, Bakewell–based Pinelog, were joined by show staff, volunteers, and fund–raisers for the opening ceremony.
After cutting the ribbon, the Duke was presented with a special gift – a gingerbread version of the new show office created by Brian Bunce.
