Life is a piece of cake for a talented young baker – who has been making a name for herself for her unique designs.
From quirky cup cakes to stunning wedding centre pieces, Rose Denyer’s cakes are not only mouth-watering but look good too.
Rose, 23, of Matlock, has started up her new business, The Pink Cake Box.
She bakes cakes to order and works from The Green Way Cafe, in Snitterton Road, which is run by her Dad, Trevor.
Rose’s cakes are handmade freshly to order using the finest fair-trade, organic and locally sourced ingredients such as organic English butter, Dove’s Farm organic flour and eggs from a farm in Rowsley.
She said: “I have always made cakes since I was about ten years old but it was about a year ago that I started to think about it on a professional level.
“I make the cakes for the cafe and people were always commenting on how delicious they were so it seemed a great idea.”
After being given an icing bag for her last birthday Rose’s passion for creating creatively decorated cakes began.
Her skills are all self taught and so far she has made animal themed master-pieces, a Wizard of Oz cake, magical fairy-tale sweet treats and a Snoopy cake among others.
She said: “I like each cake I make to be unique.
“I try to create individual designs and work with customers to make something special for them. I like people to feel it is their bespoke designed cake.
“I always like to try and invent new and exciting cakes that no-one has done before.”
Rose has received lots of praise for her designs with happy customers logging on to the The Pink Cake Box Facebook page to sing her praises.
She said: “I’ve received lots of good feedback. Customers are really pleased with the decoration but say the cakes taste amazing too.”
Prices start at around £35 for a decorated cake and cup cakes cost £2 each.
