YOUNG air cadets spent the day looking round one of the RAF’s main helicopter bases.
Matlock’s Air cadets, 140 Squadron, visited RAF Benson in Oxfordshire.
They spent the day being shown around the airfield and looking at the helicopters.
They also had a chance to sit in the cockpits of the helicopters and ask the crews questions about their jobs.
Matlock Air Cadets make regular visits to RAF bases in the UK and overseas.
Flight sergeant Eddie Muscroft, a pupil at Highfields School, in Matlock, said: “The cadets and staff had a great day looking around and sitting in the aircraft and even more exciting is that we were invited back to actually go flying in these front line military aircraft in the near future.”
The cadets meet at Hurst Rise on Monday and Wednesday evening.
