Police confirmed that a casualty had to be airlifted to hospital following a crash involving a Derbyshire fire service engine which had been heading to an emergency.
The collision happened on the A6 road, between Taddington and Ashford-in-the-Water, about 7.45am, on Tuesday, March 18.
A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said: “The fire truck was heading to an emergency involving a Toyota Celica car which had overturned.”
Police confirmed that the fire engine also overturned on its journey and a firefighter was injured and had to be airlifted to hospital.
The collision also caused delays to rush-hour traffic.
Witnesses are urged to call police on 101.
