A village institute is celebrating its 100th anniversary this month.
The Bamford Village Institute, in Main Road, will host a week of festivities between September 16 and 23 to mark the special occasion.
The celebrations will kick start with a presentation from Rod Wilson on the history of the institute.
The Bamford and District History Group has created an exhibition in celebration of the institute’s centenary, which will be laid out in the Stephen Sampson meeting room.
Other organisations, such as the Women’s institute and Gardening Society, that use the facility have also been invited to make their own displays.
There is also a variety of events taking place in the building as part of the celebration such as bowls taster sessions organised by Bamford Bowling Club, pilates, tai chi and yoga sessions.
There will be indoor games for young people aged between 11 and 14 years old, a ceilidh, Old Folks Committee pea and pie supper and story keepers session.
On Sunday, September 23, there will be a closing event between 2pm and 8pm.
