It was coffee time at a village primary as pupils hosted an event to raise funds for the Macmillan cancer charity.

Stanton-in-Peak School children brewed up for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – and raised £160.

Children served homemade cakes, teas and coffees to their parents.

Headteacher Caroline Poole said: “For a school with 30 children I think we’ve done really well.

“The children had a great time.”

Don’t forget the Mercury is hosting a Macmillan coffee morning today. Come and join us in the office in Firs Parade from 10am until noon. Visitors will get a chance to look round the office and ask questions.
