A CELEBRATION to mark 200 years of Methodism in Tansley is taking place this weekend.
Tansley Methodist Church has undergone major renovation and extension work.
Just under £250,000 has been spent on the building including a kitchen extension and repairs to the school room.
The work means the church, which was built in the 1890s, will be open to more people.
A further £28,000 still needs to be raised to complete the project.
Celebrations will take place from Friday to Sunday at the church including a flower festival with a Bible theme.
Ploughmans lunches will be served on Friday and Saturday from noon to 2pm and cakes, scones and refreshments will be on offer from 10am to 4pm.
Sunday morning and evening worship will also take place.
