A YOUTH club has finally reopened its doors after a three month hiatus.
The weekly facility, at the Whitworth Centre, in Darley Dale, was shelved because of a lack of volunteers, but was launched again on Tuesday evening.
Mayor of Darley Dale, Cllr Ingrid Pasteur said: “We are so glad it is back, we had hoped it would be open sooner but it was not possible.
“We had 12 people who have now done their training, which was the reason we had to close it in the first place.”
Cllr Paul Diggle added: “There was a serious risk to the club and it did need sorting out. We sat here four months ago and it was in mayhem. An awful lot of work has gone in to this since then.”
The senior club will be open from 7pm to 9pm on Tuesdays, while the juniors will meet on Thursdays from 5.30pm to 7pm.
