An animal centre full to capacity with unwanted cats and kittens has now organised a special open day in the hope of finding them loving new homes.
The RSPCA Chesterfield and North Derbyshire branch currently has more than 60 cats and kittens in their care. The figures are up by a third in comparison to last year’s numbers. The felines are currently being looked after at the branch’s animal centre or by fosterers.
In a bid to find new homes for the cats and kittens as soon as possible, staff at the centre have organised a Kitten Krazy Weekend on Saturday, July 2 from 11am until 3pm.
The event has been organised in the hope that staff will be able to rehome the large number of cats and kittens currently at their Chesterfield Animal Centre.
As well as an opportunity for visitors to meet the kittens and cats, there will also be refreshments, themed stalls and games at the event.
