BAKEWELL could be about to get all health conscious after the town council welcomed its latest sporty member.

Chris Levick joined the team earlier this month and is making it a priority to get Bakewell’s sport facilities up to speed.

Cllr Levick said: “Presently, Bakewell doesn’t have a tennis club, there’s no all weather five-a-side pitch and the pavilion in the recreational ground could use some funding.”

John is also using his healthy lifestyle to raise money for Macmillan cancer charity.

He aims to kayak 60 miles down the Caledonian Canal in memory his mother – who died of the disease recently.
