Two best friends took part in a charity challenge that was full of beans last week.

Darley Dale youngsters Isobel Ashbrook, 9, and Jess Templeman, 12, sat in a bath of beans all day on Saturday, August 27 to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

And it was all for a cause very close to both their hearts.

Isobel said: “We are trying to help all the people that have a case of cancer .

“Unfortunately Jess’ grandad died of cancer and my great grandad has just been diagnosed with cancer which is very sad as he is very strong and kind.

“We want to raise money so that one day there may be a cure.”

The charity challenge took place at Sainsbury’s in Matlock. The pair have raised £630 so far and have a target of £1,000.
