SHOPPERS stopped to join in with CPR demos as part of a special event at the Peak Village Shopping Outlet, Rowsley at the weekend.

Dozens watched or joined in and were encouraged to sign up for free two-hour life support training sessions, as part of the Derbyshire Save a Life Scheme campaign – a partnership between St John Ambulance, the BHF and East Midlands Ambulance Service. Around £600 was raised by a charity clothing sale in aid of St John Ambulance.

Cheryle Berry, of Derbyshire St John Ambulance, said: ‘We talked to almost 100 people during the two days and we hope that many of them will sign up for one of our training sessions or pass the information on to family and friends.”
