BAKEWELL: Security reminder after thefts

Bakewell police are reminding people to lock their cars and keep their possessions safe when out in public following thefts in the town.

The reminder comes after a 71-year-old man had a camera stolen from a backpack as he walked around Bakewell Show and a bag was stolen from an unlocked car parked on Bakewell Showground last Tuesday.

Officers are reminding members of the public to keep belongings safe in a securely fastened bag and in view at all times.

And they are asking motorists to ensure they remove all valuables from cars and make sure vehicles are left secure at all times.

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact PCSO Anthony Boswell on 101.
