Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard last Monday, January 27, how Michael Bean, 30, stole three game consoles from Blockbuster’s at Matlock but was caught on CCTV and was found with heroin and methylmethcathinone.

Prosecuting solicitor Ian Shaw said Bean stole three consoles and also had £20 of meth and £20 of heroin.

Bean, of Yew Tree Road, Newark, pleaded guilty to theft and possession of meth and heroin after the incident in July. The court heard he had been imprisoned in August for other drug and theft offences and has been released.

Defence solicitor Christopher Perry said Bean is progressing with a drug worker. Magistrates sentenced Bean to a conditional discharge and he must pay a £15 victim surcharge.
