Police hunt thugs after assault in Killamarsh

Police in Killamarsh have renewed appeals for information after a man was assaulted as he walked to work.

A 49-year-old man was walking along Station Road, near the junction with Forge Lane, when he was approached by two men who asked him for a cigarette and cash.

He said one of the men punched him several times causing bruising to his face. The offenders then ran off in the direction of Sheffield.

The men were both white and around 5ft 7ins tall.

The man who punched the victim is described as around 20-years-old, of muscular build, with short blonde hair and wearing a grey hooded top. He spoke with a local accent.

The attempted robbery took place at around 3.30am on Saturday, January 14.
