Officers from the Bakewell Safer Neighbourhood Team teamed up with agencies last Tuesday to ensure vehicle safety in the area.
PCSO’s Hayley Grundy and Anthony Boswell were joined by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency to carry out vehicle safety checks of coaches and taxis that are used to transport children to school.
During the operation, police checked the safety of the vehicles to ensure that they were fitted with the correct Tachograph seatbelts, seat mountings and that the tyres fitted legal requirements.
Registrations and driving licences were also monitored during the action from Lady Manners School on Shutts Lane, Bakewell.
Sergeant Andy Wordsworth said: “It is vital to take vehicle safety seriously.”
