A spate of ladder thefts from cars have ben reported to police in Bolsover.
One was stolen from a car roof on Eastern Avenue, overnight between Friday November 7 and Saturday November 8. Another took place on Bolsover Hill, overnight between Sunday November 9 and Monday November 10; and one on Sandringham Road, Calow, between Friday November 7 and Monday November 10.
A police spokesman said: “The locks securing the ladders were cut to allow them to be taken from the tops of the vehicles.
“If you store ladders on your vehicle please consider the security methods you use in light of these incidents.”
People have been advised to remove the ladder and store it safely overnight, park in a well-lit area and consider an alarm that can be used on the ladder. A bike alarm lock will possibly disturb an offender if it is being tampered with.
People are asked to report anything suspicious straight away by calling 101, or 999 if a crime is occurring.
