Woman jailed for thefts

A WOMAN has been sentenced to two years in prison for burglary and shoplifting offences.

Kizzy Horden, of Dale Road, in Matlock Bath, was sentenced at Derby Crown Court on Friday, February 25.

She was jailed for 18 months for burgling Tansley House Residential Home, in Church Street, Matlock, in May 2009, and two months for stealing money from a taxi driver in Matlock later that day. She sneaked into the care home, stealing alcohol.

The 25-year-old was also given four months for shoplifting at the Co-op, in Firs Parade, Matlock, in August 2010 and four months concurrent for shoplifting from Bridge News, Crown Square, Matlock, in October 2010.

Horden had pleaded not guilty to the offences.
