Spireite Charlie Last, of Dronfield, organised the ride to raise hundreds of pounds towards plans for a war memorial at The Proact Stadium in honour of those with links to the club and who lost their lives during conflicts.

The ride, on May 10, coincided with the commemorative 100th anniversary year of the beginning of World War One and it marked the end of the football season.

Charlie and ex-Spireite player Bob Newton also did a sponsored static ride at Tesco in Chesterfield with bucket collections.
