Two buildings in the Dales have scooped prestigious awards which recognises their stunning architecture.
Parkside, in Matlock, owned by Evans Vettori Architects, and Hope Valley Yoga Studio, in Hathersage, by Studio Gedye, won RIBA East Midlands Awards from the Royal Institute of British Architects.
The owners picked up their awards at a glitzy ceremony held at Leicester Cathedral on Wednesday. The event was hosted by BBC presenter and architectural historian, Jonathan Foyle.
Regional Jury Chair, Andy Thomas of Thread Architects, said of this year’s Award-winners: “Both buildings worked to enrich and bring joy to their surroundings and to be sustainable for future generations. Finally, they both made us smile.”
