WI: There was a good attendance at the recent meeting of the Darley Dale WI, despite the return of winter over the previous few days.
Members were welcomed to the meeting by the President, Jennifer Lane followed by the usual business items. Suggestions for future outings were put forward including a combined shopping and garden visit arranged by Boundary Mills and events organised by the Derbyshire Federation of WIs
Treasurer, Lynn gave and update and reported that all subs had now been paid for the coming year.
Several members had attended the Spring Council Meeting and the delegate gave a report.
Arrangements were made by members attending the Yoga day to be held at Baslow Village Hall later in the month.
After refreshments Gordon and Lorraine McGlone gave a very informative and entertaining account of their trip to Canada and Alaska. The accompanying slides gave everyone an insight into the marvellous scenery they experienced.
Raffle winner was Joan Doole and there was a ‘white stall’, where members could buy various items towardsWI funds.
The next meeting is on April 9th when there will be a ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ event. Visitors and guests are always welcome to any of the meetings.
