Members of the Peak District National Park Authority have delayed a decision to limit the number of public speakers at meetings.

Proposals to limit the number of speakers to six – with a maximum of three objectors and three supporters – on planning applications and traffic regulation orders were supposed to be voted on at a meeting on Friday, December 6.

But members decided they wanted more time to ‘carefully consider’ the plans.

Cllr Tony Favell, chair of the Peak District National Park Authority, said: “Members of the planning committee and the audit, resources and performance committee are going to meet to discuss possible solutions in situations where there are large numbers of people wanting to speak at a meeting.”
