Delay for crunch gas plan meeting
Campaigners claim Derbyshire County Council failed to provide enough notice about the date of the meeting to the 400 protesters who objected to the proposals.
The meeting, which was due to take place on Monday, has now been postponed until next month. A spokesman for the Calow Against Gas Extraction campaign group said planners had “really messed up”.

Hide AdA council spokesman said: “These are clearly proposals that many people care about and we want to be sure residents have every opportunity to give their opinion.
“We have postponed making a decision on this proposal until June 9 to provide more notice of the meeting to interested members of the public.”
Seven Star Natural Gas wants to carry out the extraction on land off Dark Lane to generate electricity for up to 5,000 homes. The firm hopes to carry out the operation round-the-clock every day of the week for a period of up to 15 years. Protesters fear the proposals will lead to more noise and have a visual impact on the village.
