Folk will be able to look up in festive wonderment as the bright object passes Earth at 5.22pm the night before the big day.

According to astronomers, it’s the perfect chance for parents to tell their kids it’s Santa flying overhead... but what’s to say it’s not actually him?

The ISS is the largest space station ever built.

It orbits Earth at 17,500mph at an altitude of roughly 200 miles and can be seen with the naked eye.
