There was plenty of fun for everyone - as well as some charity cash - when the Hackney Well Dressings and Scarecrow Festival took place last week.
Former hospital chaplain Sue Caunt blessed the well dressings in a ceremony at St Helen’s Church on Saturday, August 13.
There were four wells dressed this year, including a children’s well dressing depicting the clock on St Helen’s Church and the four seasons.
The seasons were the central theme for all of the designs on this years well dressings.
There was also a scarecrow competition in the village, with butchers, bakers, policemen and even a topical phone hacking scarecrow among the entries.
Organiser Eileen Paing said: “This is a small community event and is in its fifth year. We are raising money for the Matlock Hospital League of Friends.”
