Bonsall residents are to be treated to one of the areas most ‘eggcentric’ events with the return of the hen racing world championships.

Held at the Barley Mow pub, Bonsall, the 24th event promises all the usual thrills and spills the event is now renowned for.

Landlord David Wragg said: “People can bring their own hens, rent a hen, or just watch the fun.

“Last year 40 hens were entered and it’s looking like a similar number this year from the enquiries we’ve had”

There will be a Thornbridge Beer Festival at the event, a superb range of cask ciders, hot and cold food, morris dancing and other attractions. The event is taking place at 1.30pm this Saturday at the pub, located in The Dale, Bonsall. Call 01629 825685 from details.
