Cyclists can do themselves a power of good with new electric bikes on the High Peak and Tissington trails.
Electric bikes are now available at the Parsley Hay Cycle Hire Centre, close to the junction of the trails near Hartington.
Charlotte Bowler, cycle hire manager for the Peak District National Park, said: “Electric bikes are ideal for those who struggle to ride a standard bike or maybe find it difficult to keep up with others in their group, and most importantly they’re great fun to ride.
“They’re pedal-assisted, which means that the electric motor only works while you are pedalling so you are still getting a work-out. You can choose from three power-levels – eco, which gives 25 per cent assistance, normal for 50 per cent and sport 75 per cent - and they have a range of about 25 miles on one charge.”
Hirers should book the electric bikes in advance, and they need to bring photo-ID and a £50 deposit. The bike-hire itself is £15 for a half-day or £25 for the day. They can call 01298 84493 or email email@example.com
