A MOTHER and daughter duo are putting their business minds together in a bid to assist those suffering with terminal illness.

Carole Smith and Laura Robinson, of White Petals and Lace, are supporting Helen’s Trust - a Bakewell based charity that helps terminally ill people at home.

The charity was set up in memory of Carole’s sister-in-law and Laura’s aunt, Helen Louise Lyon.

Laura said: “Helen was such an inspiration to many people throughout her illness and her memory lives on through the wonderful work that the charity does.”

When Helen’s illness became terminal she was determined that she wanted to lead a normal life and stay in her home.

With the support of family and friends this was possible and the trust was started after Helen’s funeral in 2001.

Over the past 10 years Helen’s Trust has grown immensely and now offers support right across North Derbyshire and Sheffield.

Lucy Nickson, Chief Executive of Helen’s Trust, said: “This growth is only possible through the support and generosity of individuals and businesses like White Petals and Lace.”
