Wirksworth festival came to a dramatic conclusion on Sunday.
The town hosted a community celebration as around 2,000 people marched through the streets at dusk to create a magical finale to the annual three-week event.
Artists have been working with schools and community groups to make lanterns, banners and costumes.
Crowds met a the Market Place for food and drink then joined a procession as it wound its way through the town to St Mary’s Church.
The churchyard was transformed in to a garden of light and fire and played host to a range of community groups including the Scouts, and musicians.
The event finished with a community bonfire.
Mayor Andy Pollock said this year’s festival had been a success and the closing ceremony was a fitting way to bring everyone together.
This year’s festival has included a top line up of acts and performances taking place in venues around the town.
