Six friends walked over 100 miles in four days to raise money for two good causes.

Friends Paul Smith, Robert Sharpe, Paul Thorpe, Kurtis Baker, Henry Wagg and Mark Goodfellow walked between 12 Youth Hostels in the Peak District, finishing at YHA National Office on Dimple Road in Matlock.

They raised money for Breaks 4 Kids which funds youth group and school trips for children from low income household and Families Activity Breaks which is a partnership between the Armed Services and YHA to provide fun activity camps for bereaved military families.

The trek was organised by Matlock resident, Paul Smith, systems and communications assistant at YHA on Dimple Road. He said “There were plenty of aching legs and blisters between us but we always kept the reason why we were doing this at the forefront of our minds.”
