CROMFORD will soon play host to one of the fruitiest events in the Dales as its annual Apple Day approaches.
Everyone is invited to the occasion and those with surplus crops or windfalls are encouraged to bring along apples to be pressed into cider.
Joint organisers – Celebrating Cromford and Scarthin Books – advise that apples should be clean but do not have to be perfect.
Both cookers and eaters are suitable and other fruit – such as pears, grapes and elderberries – can be included.
Once fruit has been pressed and barrelled, attendees will be entertained by Ripley Morris Dancers and by Highfields School Friday Night Folk Group.
The event takes place on Saturday, October 20, on Scrathin Promenade at 1pm. For more information call 01629-823456.
