Kind hearted school girls Anna Thompson and Georgina East raised £174 for victims of the Somalia famine by staging a sale.
The pair sold old toys, books and homemade cakes.
Helped by friends, Erin and Keely James, they had a steady flow of customers throughout the morning despite intermittent rain and gusty winds, and were thrilled to have made so much money for Oxfam’s East Africa appeal.
Anna said: “We thought we might raise about £40. So we couldn’t believe it when we counted up all the notes and coins and it was £174.”
Georgina added: “We want to thank everyone who came along.
“Lots of people also gave donations. It was a great day and we are really pleased to have raised so much for the famine victims.”
