A HAPPY couple from Ambergate celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their marriage vows.

The event included a performance by local singing group Bel Canto.

They met in 1960 and married on May 25, 1961, after Cyril wrote Yvonne a letter asking to marry her.

Locally, Yvonne ran Flowers by Yvonne, while Cyril was caretaker at Ambergate School for 18 years until his retirement.
