SUPPORT to re-open the Grand Pavilion in Matlock Bath reached another major milestone at the weekend.
The Friends of the Grand Pavilion signed up their 1,000 member on Saturday as they continue their ambitious campaign to re-furbish and re-launch the old venue as a centre for entertainment.
A three-year lease was recently signed between Derbyshire Dales District Council and the charity, Grand Pavilion Ltd.
Friends chairman, Andie Brazewell, said: “We formed the group just over 11 months ago and have raced towards this milestone. We now have successful events every month, normally at the Temple Hotel in Matlock Bath. These are generally free to members but guests can pay to attend.
“We now have built up a very strong base of supporters.”
