Grants to help apprenticeship schemes

BUSINESS bosses are being invited to events offering grants of £2,500 to help them take on apprentices.

Derbyshire County Council has launched one of its biggest ever apprenticeship drives to create 700 positions over the next four years, 500 within the county council and 200 in private industry.

Businesses employing less than 50 employees can apply for an Apprenticeship Grant for Employers (AGE) provided by the county council to employ an apprentice.

Eight events are taking place to find out more, including one at County Hall from 9am to 11am on Friday February 3.
