Highfields School has once again been awarded a prestigious sporting title.
The Matlock school, which is part of the Rural Derbyshire School Sport Partnership, has won Youth Sport Trust Gold Partner School status.
Youth Sport Trust Partner Schools have to demonstrate how they are delivering high quality school sport and improving the PE experience for every young person.
Importantly, they are also using sport to raise achievement levels across the school.
As a partner Highfields will receive additional training and development opportunities and can become involved in national education and sport initiatives.
Rural Derbyshire School Sport Partnership school sports coordinator at Highfields Jayne Allen said: “We are delighted once again to have gained gold partner status as the opportunities this brings the students is huge.
“Becoming a Youth Sport Trust Partner School recognises our commitment to delivering the best possible experiences for young people through PE and school sport.”
