SINGERS and musicians are being summoned to take part in an ambitious Dales project.

Organisers of Wirksworth Festival are aiming to form a choir of over 120 singers and 60 musicians as part of the event’s concluding weekend on Saturday September 22.

The project is the brainchild of festival board member, town councillor and keen musician Dave Brown.

So far, he has assembled a team of experts including conductor Richard Roddis and international pianist Beate Toyka to rehearse and stage the work.

Dave said: “The chorus is open to everyone, whether you already sing in a choir, have always wanted to give it a go or are simply curious to find out what it would be like.”
