AN affordable homes development, seeking retrospective planning permission has been deferred.
Residents alerted planners to the site at Hall Croft, in Middleton by Wirksworth, after the properties were built 0.7 metres higher than the permission granted.
Developers claim the houses have been built higher due to highways and drainage issues but 19 residents have objected to the changes along with the parish council.
Planners recommended approval for Derwent Livings application, which will see 14 homes built, but councillors called for a meeting between the developers and residents and for plans to be looked at again.
Resident Catherine Housley said: “You would be setting a precedent by letting them get away with this.”
