Irish folk-rockers head for Fishpond

Legendary Irish folk-rockers Tir na nOg play The Fishpond Ballroom on Friday, September 2.

Tir na nOg are Sonny Condell and Leo O’Kelly.

They arrived in London from Ireland in 1970 and secured a record deal after only 2 days.

They spent the next three years playing folk clubs across the UK and also supporting the likes of Jethro Tull, Procol Harum, The Who, ELP across Europe and beyond.

An organiser said: “Their songs range from delicate ballads to more rockier themes with forceful beats and faster tempos. Occasional use of violin and African drums adds to the occasion. This will be an evening of quality folk and contemporary electric acoustic sounds.

Doors 8pm - Tickets £10 from the venue.
