Budget supermarket giant Aldi wants to recruit eight apprentices in Derbyshire.

They will be part of a national drive by the firm to recruit more than 700 apprentices through the Aldi Apprenticeship Scheme.

Aldi’s apprentices are given real responsibility from day one, with the opportunity to learn about the business from a grassroots level, and we expect our recruits to progress to a management position with us

Colin Breslin, regional managing director

Colin Breslin, regional managing director said: “The Aldi Apprenticeship Scheme has been hugely successful in delivering hundreds of roles for dedicated people nationwide.”

Successful applicants will be trained in all aspects of retail management during the three-year course, which mixes in-store and theory work.

The apprentices also receive a Retail Apprenticeship Level 3 qualification and an attractive starting salary of £5.50 per hour raising to £7.85

per hour, significantly higher than the national minimum wage for apprenticeships.

By the end of the scheme, the most successful store apprentices will have the opportunity progress to the position of assistant store manager with a starting salary of £30,000.

Applications should be submitted via Aldi’s recruitment website www.aldirecruitment.co.uk/apprentice and successful candidates will be asked to attend an interview followed by an ‘Aldi experience’ at a local store.

Mr Breslin said: “Aldi’s apprentices are given real responsibility from day one, with the opportunity to learn about the business from a grassroots level, and we expect our recruits to progress to a management position with us.”
