A NETHER Heage folk legend has been chosen as a patron of a Derby arts centre. Special guest John Tams, who recently worked on the music for Steven Spielberg’s World War One drama War Horse, also donated a hat signed by the director to an auction which raised £10,000 for QUAD’s community work

QUAD Director Keith Jeffrey said: “John Tams is a man with incredibly strong local roots but an international reputation for his work in music, film and theatre.

“We are delighted he has joined us as patron alongside John Hurt and Paddy Considine as he shares our belief in the power of art and film to change lives.”

John is a folk singer, composer, actor and radio producer.
