Wessington Primary School held a special celebration assembly on Friday, June 17, after winning a top award.

Tim Dutton, a local authority consultant, and Councillor George Wharmby, chairman of Derbyshire County Council, visited the school to present staff and pupils with a Personalisation Award.

A school spokeswoman said: “We are the tenth school in Derbyshire and first small school in Derbyshire to receive the award.

“A huge thank you to the children, parents, staff and governors for all their hard work and support.

“This is really a great accolade and news that we would like to share with our wider community.”
