It’s been a busy few months for the members of Matlock WI as they got stuck into making blankets for poorly children.
The knitters of Matlock WI have spent time during the last few months with clicking needles and lots of baby wool.
The members have been producing crib and cot blankets for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People in Loughborough.
Regular knitting sessions have taken place and the results were brought to the group’s meeting last month.
Many of the members have been involved in the knitting and the large task of stitching together the squares was undertaken by one of the committee members.
The completed blankets were brought out for members to see at the meeting.
The knitters finally got to see their handiwork following a very enjoyable presentation about roses and castles from Susie Litton-Wood.
Members also got the chance to try their hands at Canal Art.
Donations towards Hospice funds will accompany the blankets when they are taken to the Rainbows in Loughborough.
