This is the moment a Lancaster Bomber thrilled Starkholmes Gala with a dramatic fly-past.
Revellers at the fun day, which took place on Starkholmes Village Hall Field on Saturday, June 11, enjoyed a special flying visit from the Second World War aircraft.
The PA474 whizzed past as part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, having been participating in the Queen’s Birthday Parade in London earlier in the day.
Villager and businessman Brian Webster again worked his magic to make it possible for the people of Starkholmes and surrounding areas to see the flying memorial to the thousands of airmen who lost their lives during the Second World War.
The plane is only one of two Lancasters remaining in airworthy condition out of the 7,377 made.
As well as the fly-past, crowds enjoyed dozens of attractions, including medieval stocks, fancy dress, a bouncy slide, tombola, WI stall and a variety of refreshments.
