SCHOOLS and workplaces right across the Dales came together over a nice brew and a biscuit to raise money for Macmillan cancer charity.
One such successful morning was held at Stanton-in-Peak Primary School where staff and youngsters raised an impressive £179.
Zoe Oldham, assistant head of Stanton-in-Peak Primary School, said: “The whole school took part so we have children aged from four to 11 and we invited all parents, family and members of the community to the event as well.”
In preparation for the coffee morning the pupils had baked buns, crispie cakes and shortbread.
Zoe said: “Some of the parents had made Victoria sponges and cream cakes – so it was all very fancy.”
The school has taken part in the Macmillan Coffee Mornings for the last five years.
Zoe said: “We’d like to say thank you to everybody who came and supported us – it was very successful.”
