Peak Village is hoping to knit communities together by raising funds for Crohn’s and Colitis UK.

The Rowsley-based shopping outlet has just launched The Old Station Knitathon and its aim is to knit a scarf that stretches around the shopping centre – and back again.

A ‘knitting chair’ will be placed in the Old Station Building at Peak Village and for a £1 donation for adults (50p for children) would-be knitters are invited to knit a length to add to the scarf.

Terrance Morgan, a spokesman for Peak Village, said: “We hope adults and children alike will come and have a go for a good cause. There’s some great prizes on offer too.”
