Year 6 pupils at All Saint’s Junior School in Matlock were taken to the moon and back in a special talk by a Doctor of Physics.

Doctor Daniel Brown, from Nottingham Trent University, visited the school on January 19th to give a special, interactive presentation about the moon. He was also on hand to answer any astronomy questions the children had. The talk was given to coincide with the BBC’s nationwide Stargazing LIVE Event.

Year 6 pupil, Isaac Ryde, 11, was very excited and said: “I really enjoyed Dr Brown’s visit and hope to see him again.”

Year 6 teacher, Jonathan Abbott said he hoped Mr Brown would return in the summer to give details of his new project, Dark Skies. He added: “The experience was a lot of fun for the children while proving very educational.”
